Former Lions QB Cam Sutton turns himself in

Former Lions cornerback Cam Sutton whose been wanted on domestic violence allegations has turned himself in to authorities in Florida.

According to ESPN, Sutton has been wanted by police since March 7 when an arrest warrant was issued after the veteran defensive back allegedly battered a woman at a house in Lutz, Florida before leaving the scene.

The search concluded Sunday night around 8:24 pm ET when Sutton turned himself in and was booked into the Orient Road Jail in Tampa, Florida, six days after his attorney told police of their client’s intentions.

The 29-year-old Sutton who joined the Lions last offseason on a three-year, $33M contract is facing domestic battery by strangulation, a third-degree felony that could carry a five-year prison sentence. Detroit would eventually release Sutton on March 21 after learning of the warrant for his arrest.
