FML: Jahmyr Gibbs, Terrion Arnold, and Ennis Rakestraw all suffered injuries tonight for the Lions😰

It was a tough day when it came to injuries for the Lions.

Various beatwriters are reporting that running back Jahmyr Gibbs as well as rookie defensive backs Terrion Arnold and Ennis Rakestraw all left practice tonight with various injuries. For Gibbs, it was originally reported to be a leg and later specified as a hamstring while Arnold is being classified as an “upper body” while Rakestraw is being evaluated for an ankle injury.

The seriousness of all mentioned injuries is still yet to be determined, however, they’re going to raise some eyebrows considering all three are obviously slated to be big-time contributors with the regular season now less than a month away. Gibbs formed one of the most dynamic running back duos in the NFL with David Montgomery last season and are expected to pick up right where they left off in 2024. Both Gibbs and Montgomery rushed for over 1000 yards each while the rookie Gibbs added 11 touchdowns, a Pro Bowl selection, and finished fourth in Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.

Meanwhile, Arnold and Rakestraw were selected in this year’s draft as the centerpieces of a revamped Detroit secondary that’ll surely have its hands full in an offensively loaded NFC North.
