Fight breaks out at the end of the Michigan State/Michigan Game

Michigan State and Michigan fight at the end of the game.

Tempers boiled over at the end of Saturday night’s Michigan State/Michigan game, which saw the Wolverines beat the Spartans 24-17 in Ann Arbor.

As Michigan took a knee, Michigan State tight end Anthony Jones and Michigan tight end Colston Loveland started trading blows as both benches cleared with time expiring.

Both Jonathan Smith and Sherrone Moore condemned what happened with Moore saying that it “was unacceptable regardless of what happened and how it started.” Smith added, “Yeah, you don’t love finishing kind of that way, especially, I thought, the football game itself, it was physical, I think guys were playing really hard and I thought it was a pretty clean game. So it’s tough to finish that way.”

Whatever the coaches or the media think, with two new head coaches and both programs struggling, perhaps this is what the rivalry needed as it enters into a new era.
