A fan attending the Packers/49ers game at Candlestick Park in San Francisco fell to his death from a walkway prior to the game’s kickoff.
The man’s name isn’t being released however he’s believed to of been in his early thirties with alcohol suspected to be a factor.
“Multiple independent witnesses indicated he appeared to be intoxicated prior to his fall,” according to a news release from the San Francisco police.
This latest incident is just another in a long line of fan deaths at sporting events as a result of a fall from elevated heights. Back in August at a Phillies/Braves game from Turner Field a fan fell to their death off during a rain delay. And in 2012 a Tennessee Vols fan fell 45 feet at the Georgia Dome in a college football game between Tennessee and NC State.
