Along with Shaka Smart (who’s loyalty to VCU is undeniable) Brad Stevens of Butler is one of the most coveted head coaches in all of college hoops. And with a storied program like UCLA looking for a head coach, you’d think Stevens would be right at the top of their list.
Well that appears to be the case… well at least it did.
ESPN’s Andy Katz looked to of broken a pretty major story saying that the young Butler head coach and UCLA were in “contract negotiations”. However about 15 minutes later, according to The Big Lead, the contract portion of Katz’s article was taken down.
The Big Lead’s Jason McIntyre was however able to get a screen grab of the original wording.
At least the portion on the text message appears to be true. If Stevens doesn’t head out west to UCLA I’m sure we’ll hear more rumors regarding his Butler departure more and more.
