“ESPN = Fake News”, “ESPN, SEC, Frauds”, those were just some of the signs spotted at the Save Urban Meyer rally at Ohio State Monday as fans descended upon the University in support of the embattled head coach. Meyer is currently on paid administrative leave pending an investigation into whether or not he turned a blind eye to his former longtime assistant Zach Smith allegedly beating the shit out of his now ex-wife Courtney.
Ironically you never see signs supporting the victims. Just like that absurd Joe Paterno rally at Penn State in the wake of him getting fired by the Nittany Lions after covering his eyes when Jerry Sandusky was rapping kids in the shower stalls in Happy Valley. Unfortunately we’re not seeing any signs supporting Courtney who ultimately the victim here.
Also don’t misconstrue Urban Meyer with JoePa. We don’t know if Meyer is guilty or not. The best thing to do in this situation is wait for everything to come out before awarding guilt or innocence. Likewise however shouldn’t Urban Meyer supporters be doing the same thing?
