Eaves suffers fractured jaw in the Wings’ 4-1 win over Nashville

Red Wings forward Patrick Eaves sustained a broken jaw during the Red Wings’ 4-1 victory over the Nashville Predators Saturday night.

Eaves suffered the injury when he was hit in the right ear by a one-timer from Nashville’s Roman Josi with 2:14 to play in the game. Eaves went down immediately and lay on the ice for several minutes before being taken off on a stretcher.

Eaves was taken to the Detroit Medical Center where he remained overnight for observations.

There is no word yet on how long Eaves will be out of action or whether or not surgery will be needed.
