You’d typically see this headline reversed and it very well could have been if Brady was able to hit Gronk in the end zone on the last second hail mary. Instead, it was the Eagles pulling off the upset to down the Patriots 41-33 in Super Bowl LII.

It also sets up an interesting offseason for Philadelphia given their backup quarterback Nick Foles was also named the MVP after throwing for 373 yards and three touchdowns. Oh yeah, Foles was also able to net himself a TD reception in the first half on perfectly executed reverse that found the Eagles QB wide open.

Needless to say though Brady was Brady on the other side field throwing for 505 yards with three touchdowns which ended being a Super Bowl record. And when it came to Brady his only real blemish came late in the fourth when Brandon Graham strip sacked him for the Patriots only turnover of the game. Unfortunately for New England it was a costly one.

But when it came down to it for Philadelphia the winning recipe to beat this incarnation of the Patriots was to keep to keep the playbook open. Doug Pederson did just that whether it was calling for that reverse to a wide open Foles or going for it on fourth down in the fourth quarter when the conservative call would be to punt the ball away and attempt to play defense against Brady.
