The Dodgers were the winners in the Hector Olivera sweepstakes as they signed the coveted Cuban infielder to a 6-year, $62.5M dollar deal that includes a $28M signing bonus.

MLB.com was the first to break the story on Olivera who had a .323 batting average over 10 seasons in the Cuban league.

Olivera likely wonโ€™t be a starter in the MLB come 2015 but based on his salary youโ€™d think the Dodgers would get him into the lineup sooner rather than later. Starting at second base or third in 2016 seems like a more realistic option for the highly talented infielder.
