Game 2 of the NLDS between the San Diego Padres and the Los Angeles Dodgers was briefly delayed in the seventh inning after fans began to hurl objects on the field specifically at San Diego outfielder Jurickson Profar.

The game was delayed when fans sitting in the outfield stands at Dodgers stadium threw a baseball at Padres left fielder Jurickson Profar. Profar and the fans had been jawing back and forth throughout most of the game while the outfielder had to be restrained and calmed down by umpires after the objects were thrown.

In the postgame, Profar told the MLB Network, “A couple baseballs coming my way. I wasn’t hit, but when you stand on the field like that, and things are thrown at the back of your head, it’s a little scary.”

Profar endeared himself to Dodgers fans in the first inning with an incredible catch in the first inning robbing Mookie Betts of a home run, faking out an entire stadium and the broadcast, who weren’t sure if he actually made the out.

Profar’s teammate Fernando Tatis Jr. also trolled the fans, wiping away fake tears and blowing kisses.

After the seventh inning, Manny Machado gathered the team for a quick meeting in the dugout before Padres rookie Jackson Merrill launched a two-run homer to initially extend San Diego’s lead to 6-1. The Padres eventually went on to beat the Dodgers 10-2 to even the best-of-five series at a game a piece.
