Did the USL just leak the full 2022 Detroit City FC schedule?

This past week, the USL Championship released the opening dates as well as the home openers for each club heading into the 2022 season.

For Detroit City FC who’ll be making their debut in the second-tier League this year, open things up on the road against San Antonio FC on March 12 and begin their home slate on March 19 versus the Charleston Battery.

The entirety of the 2022 schedule is expected to come out sometime next week.

However, it looks like the USL may have leaked things early, at least for DCFC.

Supporters of the Club took note early Saturday on the USL website that an entire Detroit City FC schedule seemed to be available.

For some reason the first two matches aren’t listed on what may be the full schedule but if this is all actually true, here’s how things shape out for Le Rouge in 2022:

Of these dates, there’s a couple of matches to note.

First, DCFC appears to have three consecutive home matches in March and early April to kick off the season which seems odd considering what Michigan weather could be like on those dates. Second, former Detroit City head coach Ben Pirmann makes his return to Keyworth with Memphis 901 FC on April 2. On July 16, Le Rouge makes their way out west to face off against fellow 2022 expansion counterparts Monteray Bay FC. The following month City pays a visit to Al Lang Stadium to take on 2021 USL Cup runners up the Tampa Bay Rowdies on August 6 and finally the following weekend the Oakland Roots return to Keyworth on August 13. This would be the first matchup between these two clubs since Detroit City beat the Roots back in late 2020 for the NISA Fall Championship.

Anyways we should get final confirmation on these dates sometime next week.
