Did the Heat win a second round series or the NBA Championship?

This past Wednesday the Miami Heat defeated the Boston Celtics 97-87 to move onto the Eastern Conference finals against the Chicago Bulls. Now I know this happened a few days ago but I couldn’t help but notice the way the Heat were action upon winning the series. If you were unaware you would’ve figured the Heat won the NBA Championship instead of a stepping stone second round series.

You do have to hand it to the Heat though. They were able to beat the Celtics in impressive fashion. But in terms of what the Heat have done the past off-season, isn’t a Heat victory over an aging Celtics team almost like beating Super Mario Bros. using the Game Genie codes?

To top things off, LeBron decided to make some statements after the game, which is always a good idea…

“I couldn’t do it by myself against that team,” James said. “I apologize for the way it happened, but I knew this opportunity was once in a lifetime.”

“In order for me to move on with my career, we had to go through them,” James said.

Sorry LeBron but if you didn’t give up on Cleveland last year you probably could have beaten the Celtics then.
