The Texas Rangers dropped a Tuesday matinée with the Tigers 5-4 in the bottom of the 9th.
However, the big story coming out of this game was that Rangers’ slugger Josh Hamilton will be lost for 6-8 weeks after breaking his arm sliding into home.
Hamilton also added more fuel to the fire after he seemingly threw his third base coach Dave Anderson under the bus…
“It was just a stupid play. I definitely shouldn’t have done it. I listened to my third base coach … The whole time I was watching the play I was listening. [He said], ‘Nobody’s at home, nobody’s at home.’ I was like, ‘Dude, I don’t want to do this. Something’s going to happen.’ But I listened to my coach.”
The only stupid thing coming out of this is the comments made by Hamilton. The third base coach did the right thing in evaluating the situation and noticing that no one was covering home. Not to mention that Hamilton is the one that chose to slide head first into home.
