Three Keys to the Victory:
- Take advantage of the wounded running game: All world running back Marshawn Lynch is going to miss the game. The Seahawks are going to roll with the combination of very long in the tooth veteran Fred Jackson and un-drafted rookie Thomas Rawls. Rawls is expected to shoulder most of the load which should be good news for Detroit. You may remember Rawls from his days as a Michigan Wolverine before he transferred to Central Michigan to finish out his college career.
- Double Cover Jimmy Graham: Tight end Jimmy Graham is off to a solid start in a Seahawks uniform. There is no other skill player that should scare the Lions defense with Marshawn Lynch out, so the defense should be able to dedicate double coverage on every snap to Graham. Keep Jimmy down and you have a shot to win.
- Throw the deep dammit! Quarterback Matthew Stafford is 30th in yards per attempt in the NFL mostly because the Lions just don’t throw it deep anymore. You have to large target in Calvin Johnson and Eric Ebron that can stretch the field, so run some play action and use his arm strength to make a big play. Matthew Stafford will never be accurate enough to be a dink and dunk winner, so do what he does best. Huck it deep!
Prediction
Detroit Lions 17 – Seattle Seahawks 31
The Lions just won’t have enough to get it done on the road on Monday Night Football. This team will now sit at 0-4 and will be staring down the barrel of another lost season and and another top five draft pick.
