A former Michigan State Spartan could be returning to the area as free-agent defensive tackle Domata Peko has apparently garnered some interest from the Detroit Lions.

This comes from TMZ Sports which caught up to the 13-year NFL veteran who stated he had a ‘nice visit’ with the Lions last week and that his agent is “trying to work some stuff out” for a contract.

However, despite the interest from the Lions Peko really has his signs set on playing for the Rams.

Via TMZ:

“I would like to be with Aaron Donald, man,” Peko says … “Hell yeah! That would be dope.”

34-year-old Peko shot down retirement rumors with our camera guy out in Bev Hills on Tuesday … and says he’s definitely trying to play a 14th season in the NFL.

Domata tells us he just had a visit with the Detroit Lions last week … but the team he’d really like to sign with is McVay’s.

“Coach McVay! Your boy, Domata Peko, here, ready to go. I would love to come out here, represent L.A. and try to pursue that championship!”

Both teams could probably use the 35-year-old to some capacity with the Lions currently having an open spot in their starting DT rotation depending on how long Damon Harrison intends to hold out. And if the price is right, Peko could provide some adequate depth coming off a two year, $7.5 million dollar deal with the Broncos where he was able to accumulate 69 total tackles with six of those in 2017
