Detroit City FC announced Wednesday that the club has re-signed Bilal Obeid to a USL Academy contract. The deal allows Obeid to retain his college eligibility while continuing to train and play with Detroit City FC’s men’s first team.
Obeid, an 18-year-old native of Dearborn, made his first-team debut on July 26, 2025, when Detroit City FC faced Westchester SC in the Jägermeister Cup. He went on to appear in three additional league matches with the first team over the remainder of the 2025 season.
In addition to his involvement with DCFC, Obeid signed to play collegiately at Michigan State Spartans men’s soccer in November, further solidifying his development pathway at both the professional and collegiate levels.
