Denard never thought about leaving Michigan

When the University of Michigan cut ties with head coach Rich Rodriguez, there was some serious speculation that QB Denard Robinson would be leaving with him.

This apparently wasn’t the case though…

The day Brady Hoke was hired, Denard Robinson gave some words of reassurance to his teammates and in some ways the fans that thought he may have been on his way out…

“Denard, he’s a really light-hearted guy. I’ve never really seen him get so ticked off. Something was bothering him, and when he said it, you could tell he was insulted we’d even think he would go anywhere.”

“He was kind of pissed,” Michigan senior Mike Martin said Friday at the Big Ten media days in Chicago. “He was like, ‘I can’t believe any of you guys would think I’d leave. You guys are my brothers, my teammates. I’m not going to leave you guys.’

In 2010, Robinson rushed for 1,702 yards which was an NCAA record among QB’s. He also posted the most prolific offensive numbers in Michigan history.

But looking ahead to the new pro-style offense that Brady Hoke brings to the table, Denard was asked what his concerns are regarding that…

“Keep (my) feet under me and stepping up in the pocket,” Robinson said. “Pointing my feet to the target. That’s probably the biggest thing I’ve been working on.”
