When the University of Michigan cut ties with head coach Rich Rodriguez, there was some serious speculation that QB Denard Robinson would be leaving with him.
This apparently wasnβt the case thoughβ¦
The day Brady Hoke was hired, Denard Robinson gave some words of reassurance to his teammates and in some ways the fans that thought he may have been on his way outβ¦
βDenard, heβs a really light-hearted guy. Iβve never really seen him get so ticked off. Something was bothering him, and when he said it, you could tell he was insulted weβd even think he would go anywhere.β
βHe was kind of pissed,β Michigan senior Mike Martin said Friday at the Big Ten media days in Chicago. βHe was like, βI canβt believe any of you guys would think Iβd leave. You guys are my brothers, my teammates. Iβm not going to leave you guys.β
In 2010, Robinson rushed for 1,702 yards which was an NCAA record among QBβs. He also posted the most prolific offensive numbers in Michigan history.
But looking ahead to the new pro-style offense that Brady Hoke brings to the table, Denard was asked what his concerns are regarding thatβ¦
βKeep (my) feet under me and stepping up in the pocket,β Robinson said. βPointing my feet to the target. Thatβs probably the biggest thing Iβve been working on.β
