Running on pure emotion, Dee Gordon tonight proved there may be more behind baseball than being just a simple game.
Leading off in the first game for the Marlins since the tragic death of ace pitcher Jose Fernandez early Sunday morning, Gordon hit a monster home run to right field after batting right handed in honor of his fallen friend.

Gordon circled the bases in tears and was greeted with nothing bug hugs as he went back into the dugout.
I’m also not sure the script tonight could’ve been written any better. Especially considering the Marlins came out on top 7-3 over the Mets.
