Dan Campbell is taking on a ton of shit from fans pissed about his fourth down decisions in the aftermath of last night’s 34-31 loss to the 49ers in the NFC Championship Game.
Because I could only assume David Montgomery was seeing what was on the horizon in terms of bad Monday morning takes concerning Campbell’s decision-making, the Lions running back came to the defense of Campbell calling him the “best coach in the league’.
It really doesn’t make sense to praise what Campbell has been able to do with this organization and then blast him for having that same mentality and doing the very thing that got them into the position, to begin with. Next someone will say, “Well given the circumstances of the game…”, yes, given where the Lions were playing, what they were playing for, and where they were at coming into this game, no one should be surprised this is how Campbell executed his play calling last night.
