A legendary career came to end this weekend as David Beckham played his final professional game before riding off into retirement. Beckham had an assist in his final game helping his Paris Saint-Germain teammates defeat Brest 3-1 in Paris.
Before all that though Beckham was brought to tears after leaving the field for the last time (via sub) hugging teammates to a standing ovation.
Beckham isn’t expected to stay away from the game though. When he signed his contract with the Los Angeles Galaxy there was reportedly an option to start a MLS franchise at some point. To add it’s been said that the next city set for expansion in MLS is New York City to rival the Red Bull. Currently it’s believed that franchise will reside in Brooklyn with Man City owner Sheikh Mansour potentially putting money behind Beckham’s MLS venture.
