Brooks was eventually called for a flagrant one after a lengthy review by the officials which ended up being a double score for Ohio State since it game them their free throws, the ball and time to get Russell patched up.

Russell too eventually got his revenge on Brooks with a nasty behind the back cross over while the Buckeyes enacted their revenge on VCU with an 75-72 OT win.
