Detroit

If Dan Campbell isn’t concerned about Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs’ hamstring injury you shouldn’t be either.

During an appearance on 97.1 The Ticket Wednesday morning from training camp, the Lions head coach said “I think we’ll be good” when asked about Gibbs’ status.

Gibbs left Monday’s practice early with what was first reported as a leg injury but later specified as a hamstring, something the second-year pro has been dealing with since last year. It was also during his rookie season that Gibbs averaged 16.5 touches, 92 yards from scrimmage, and scored 11 touchdowns in the final 11 regular season games. That success carried over to the postseason when Gibbs secured 144 rushing yards, 94 receiving yards, and scored three touchdowns helping the Lions get to the NFC Championship Game and not to mention 30 minutes away from the Super Bowl.

The news is also good when it comes to Hendon Hooker and Terrion Arnold

There was also some good news on the injury front for backup quarterback Hendon Hooker and rookie defensive back Terrion Arnold. In addition to Gibbs, Campbell also mentioned that Hooker may play in the team’s second preseason game this Saturday in Kansas City after suffering a concussion last Thursday against the Giants.

Terrion Arnold who also left practice on Monday with an “upper body” injury isn’t expected to miss any time with what is now being described as a pec injury.

Meanwhile, no specific reports were made regarding Ennis Rakestraw. However, Campbell seemed to imply that he was not concerned about the ankle injury suffered by the rookie defensive back this past Monday.
