Is Michigan defender Troy Woolfolk a safety or corner?
As a senior in the Michigan system you’d figure that the coaching staff would have a good idea as to what position suits Woolfolk the best. However as Michigan moves into the final stretch of the regular season, Woolfolk has been moved from corner to safety.
“I like both (positions),” Woolfolk told the Detroit News. “Honestly, I’m not really sure. I haven’t done enough safety yet to say I prefer it over corner, but right now I like the versatility of covering more ground at safety than at corner. I feel I can make a better impact at corner.”
With that said, it looks as though going forward Michigan will continue to use Woolfolk at the safety position.
Despite not being settled on a position, it’s nice to have that versatility on defense.
