Conor McGregor isn’t running short on any level of confidence, especially when it comes to an rumored bout between himself and Floyd Mayweather. That confidence was felt Friday night in New York during the debut of Irish boxer Michael Conlan when after the fight McGregor went off on his proclamations to the boxing media.
Via MMAFighting.com:
“You’re the boxing guy? I’m the boxing guy. Watch me take over boxing,” McGregor roared. “Trust me on that. No one in this boxing game knows what’s coming. Trust me on that. When I step in there, I’m going to shock the whole goddamn world. Trust me on that. Look me in the eyes. Twenty-eight years of age, confident as a motherf*cker, long, rangy, dangerous with every hand. Trust me, I’m going to stop Floyd and you’re all going to eat your words. The whole world is going to eat their words.”
Unfortunately in all of that, McGregor didn’t mention a date. Only that with this eruption last night it seems pretty certain that the potential fight of the century will happen. Hopefully however it doesn’t turn up to be a total shit fest like the last proclaimed century changing bout.
