According to the People’s Daily newspaper, Chinese runners got a nasty surprise in their prize packs after a marathon last weekend.
The paper reports that after the Qingyuan marathon in southern China, runners opened up what they though was a grape energy bar, which wouldn’t be out of the ordinary to to have after a race. However instead of getting grape flavored energy bars, the organizers of the race provided the participants with grape scented bars of soap…
And as you can see, it caught a number of runners off guard who proceeded to take a bite:
Afterwards the streets were reportedly littered with bars of grape soap complete with bite marks taken out of them.
