Chicago Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane is the subject of a rape investigation in Hamburg, New York located on the west side of the State according to the Buffalo News
Here’s an exceprt from the report that mentions a young women accusing Kane of rape after an incident that occurred last weekend.
Patrick Kane, the star player of the Chicago Blackhawks who grew up in South Buffalo, is the target of a rape investigation by Hamburg police for an incident that occurred over the last weekend, two law enforcement sources have told The Buffalo News.
A local woman has accused Kane of a sexual assault, the sources said. The law enforcement sources said that the woman went to a hospital and that tests using a rape kit were performed. Kane, 26, has a home in Hamburg. He has not been charged with any crime.
Kane hasn’t been charged with a crime… yet while Hamburg Police Chief Gregory G. Wickett and Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita III had no comment.
“We are aware of the police investigation and are following developments,” NHL spokesman Frank Brown said Thursday.
Kane’s off ice escapades have been well documented in recent memory.
In 2009 the Blackhawks forward and his cousin were arrested in Buffalo for punching out a cab driver after a monetary dispute of less than a dollar. Meanwhile in 2012 Deadspin had nice coverage of Kane’s Cinco de Mayo alcohol binge fest that included passing out in bars and getting thrown out of fraternity houses.
The Blackhawks haven’t commented nor has his lawyer who defended him during the 2009 cabbie incident. Obviously this could end up being a huge mess for the Blackhawks though who signed Kane to an eight year, $84 million extension in the summer of 2014.
