Central Michigan couldn’t hold on despite a strong start as they fell to the Cardinals of Ball State 31-27.
The Chippewas were able to score on their first three offensive possessions and had a 20-3 lead in the fourth quarter. However three turnovers in the second half led to their demise.
Two of the Central Michigan turnovers in the second half led to Ball State touchdowns.
Central Michigan (2-6, 1-3 Mid-American Conference) had a chance to retake the lead in the final minute of the game however Central QB Ryan Radcliff’s desperation pass was picked off by Ball State senior Sean Baker.
Despite the interception in the end, Radcliff put up some very good numbers throwing for 436 yards on 30 of 44 passing. He had three touchdowns and just the one interception.
The two teams combined for over 1,000 yards of offense as Central Michigan tallied 569 to Ball State’s 456 yards.
