It looks like the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers have struck a deal that’s going to dramatically change how the top of this year’s NBA draft field looks.
According to NBA.com’s David Aldridge, the Sixers will acquire the first overall pick from the Celtics to draft point guard Markelle Fultz who the team met with on Saturday.
Meanwhile according to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Celtics move down two picks and receive Philadelphia’s third overall selection. However the third overall pick would be in addition to the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2018 first-round pick and the Sacramento Kings’ 2019 first-rounder, with protections.
However the Celtics may not be looking to hold on to their stockpile of picks long. Adam Zagoria of FanRag Sports tweeted out Friday that Boston may be hoarding first round picks in an effort to trade for Bulls guard Jimmy Butler.
The Celtics could also be acquiring more first-round picks to deal for Jimmy Butler, per league source.

The trade is expected to be finalized Monday.
