Can Denard Robinson still be the explosive player that he was last season in Michiganβs new offense? I would say the jury is still out despite rushing for 98 yards and rushing for 46.
βWe only ran 39 plays,β center David Molk told ESPN.com Big Ten blogger Brian Bennett βLast year, that was barely half a game for us.β
So the Wolverines are confident Robinson will bounce back. βI thought he managed the offense very well for the first time out,β Borges said of Robinson. βHe didnβt create the big plays heβs used to, but our tailbacks did. As long as somebody does, weβll be fine. Youβll see that part of his game surface eventually.β
Things donβt get easier for Robinson and the rest of the Wolverines this weekend when Michigan takes on Notre Dame under the lights of The Big House. However it seems that any week Robinson is poised for a big game.
βLast year, Denard had too many big plays against our defense,β Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said this week. βSo weβll be looking for answers towards keeping him in that realm where he doesnβt take over the game.β
