Tigers fans were holding their breath Tuesday night when they heard the news that their All-Star firstbaseman Miguel Cabrera left the game after suffering a strained right oblique muscle.
Now although this is an injury that can cause a player to miss some time (like a couple of months), Cabrera told MLB.com that the injury “is nothing big” and that he is going to “take care of himself and get ready for Friday”.
According to Fox Sports Detroit, Cabrera said that he could’ve stayed in the game but didn’t want to take any chances.
“You have to be smart in this situation,” he said. “It’s why I told them I’m hurt right now. I felt something a little bit, so I want to make sure it’s OK.”
Cabrera says he suffered the injury while at bad during the 6th inning when he felt a “twinge” in his right oblique.
Oh yeah, here is Joe Buck once again failing…
