The Braves signed two 40-plus year old pitchers in less than 48 hours

I’m not sure the Atlanta Braves are serious when it comes to improving on their 68-93 record in 2016. Nor do they seem serious about improving that 4.51 team ERA they put together (which was good for 24th in all of baseball last season) given the moves the team has made in the past 48 hours.

To curtail their awful pitching, the Braves went out and signed not one but two pitchers who are over the age of 40 years old.

Thursday the team signed knuckleballer R.A. Dickey to a one-year deal with a club option in 2018.

Dickey is 42 years old and coming off a season with the Blue Jays where he went 10-15 with a 4.46 ERA.

But wait… there’s more.

Friday, the team figured “hell we could use another pitcher over the age of 40” and signed a 43-year old Bartolo Colon to a one-year, $12.5 million dollar deal.

And with that the Braves now own the two oldest pitchers in baseball which on the bright side for Atlanta fans, you have this kind of stuff to look forward to with “Big Sexy”:
