Tigers third baseman Brandon Inge has accepted a rehab assignment with the Toledo Mud Hens and is expected to play for the Tigers’ Triple-A affiliate tonight in Louisville. Brandon Inge is working his way back to the Tigers after being placed on the 15 day DL with mononucleosis back on June 2nd.
Inge could have denied the rehabilitation assignment however he was planning on taking it all along.
“After working out the first two days, I realized I needed to go, because it’s different,” he said. “It’s like once you do something physical, it’s a different type of tired. I think I need to let my body get back into the daily grind.”
If everything goes right during his stint with Toledo, Inge could find himself back with the Tigers during their next home stand against the Diamondbacks on June 24th.
