Former and current New Orleans Saints players involved in Bountygate scored a huge victory today as an appeals court overturned their suspensions meaning they will be available for week one of the NFL season. Jonathan Vima (entire season), Will Smith (4 games), Scott Fujita (now with Cleveland, 3 games) and Anthony Hargrove (now of the Packers 8 games) were each handed down suspensions by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for their part in New Orleans’ suspected bounty system which took place under the watch of former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.
Williams was suspended indefinitely by the league and it’s unclear what will happen with the suspensions of current Saints head coach Sean Peyton, GM Mickey Loomis and assistant coach Joe Vitt.
