Calgary @ Detroit
Mikael Samuelsson and Kyle Quincey both make their returns to the Red Wings lineup tonight from the IR, with the Calgary Flames looking to turn around their misfortune at Joe Louis Arena.
Samuelsson will take the spot of young Mursak, and sub in on the third line with Drew Miller and Darren Helm. Kyle Quincey will play in relief of Jakub Kindl.
The new presence would be felt earlier, as 8 minutes into the first, Kyle Quincey (1) (A: Emmerton, Abdelkader) scored on a slapshot from the far circle to take the lead for the Wings, 1-0. However, it wouldn’t last as with 4 minutes remaining in the period, Alex Tanguay (6) (A: St. Louis, Babchuk) would score from almost the same point on Jimmy Howard with a wrister.
Calgary would take the lead in the second, with a goal by Mark Giordano (1) (A: Hudler, Babchuk) late in the period from the near boards at an odd angle.
Detroit would score quickly to tie it up, with a Dan Cleary (5) (A: Kronwall, Zetterberg) slapshot on the rush. Detroit couldn’t capitalize on two powerplays in the period though, and Jerome Iginla (2) (A: Byron, Giordano) scored with only 4 minutes left for the Flames to win it.
DET 2 – 3 CGY

Only two other games last night;
New Jersey (4-6-1) @ Toronto (4-4-3)
Martin Brodeur may not have taken my criticism lightly, as the Devils have been streaking pretty well. They win over the Leafs in a shootout. NJD 3 – 2 TOR
New York Islanders (7-6-0) @ Anaheim (6-3-4)
The Islanders just keep chugging along, winning against a very good Ducks team, who is having trouble in the extra frames. They also go to a shootout. NYI 3 – 2 ANA
Notes: NYI RW Kyle Okposo is lost for three weeks with a sore shoulder.
