Earlier in the season Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez pulled starter Aaron Harang in the seventh inning with a no-hitter intact. The problem though with Harang’s outing against the Mets that night was he had already thrown 121 pitches so it certainly was understandable that Harang sit down.
Jays starter Brandon Morrow however was pulled from a “no-hitter” today for another reason. A reason that proves not every “no-hitter” are good “no-hitters” as Morrow had already walked eight of 14 batters by the third inning allowing 4 earned runs.
Morrow also made history becoming the first pitcher to concede eight walks in three or fewer innings since 2003.
Brandon Morrow is the first starter to walk at least 8 batters in 3 innings or fewer since Jonathan Johnson on June 13, 2003.
