Overnight the Blue Jays made the biggest splash prior to Friday’s trade deadline landing them superstar shortstop Troy Tulowitzki from the Rockies. Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports was one of the first to report the deal that included veteran reliever LaTroy Hawkins also heading to Toronto.

Heading to the Rockies in this massive blockbuster is shortstop Jose Reyes as well prospects Jeff Hoffman and Miguel Castro who make up the integral pieces of the deal.

Plenty of money will be changing hands in this deal as Tulowitzki is currently owed $20 million between 2016 and 2019 as well as a payout of $14 million in 2021. The 32-year old Reyes on the other hand is owed $22 million from 2015 to 2017 including a club option in 2018 with a $4 million buyout.

Other than the exchange in contracts though, Jon Heyman of CBS Sports is reporting that no other financial terms were agreed upon in the deal.

The 42-year old Hawkins despite his age still offers decent numbers as a reliever and should certainly benefit getting away from Coors Field. The veteran owns a 3.63 ERA and strikes out 8.1 per nine while walking 1.6 over nine.
