The Stanley Cup Finals looked like it was heading back to Chicago for a decisive Game 7.
And why shouldn’t it?
Monday night the Boston Bruins gave it all they had and were 1:16 away from sending the series back to Chicago for an all or nothing final game of the NHL season.
The Blackhawks though, the League’s best team during the regular season had other things in mind.
Weathering the Boston storm all night long, Bryan Bickell was able to tie the game up 2-1 with that 1:16 left in regulation and Corey Crawford sitting on the bench for the Blackhawks. Then a mere 17 seconds later, Dave Bolland sealed Boston’s fate as he put a rebound past Tuukka Rask to give the Blackhawks a 3-2 lead and the Stanley Cup.
Did you know? The @NHLBlackhawks played a total of 71 games in the regular season & playoffs and won 52 of them (via @@smn013) #hockeynight
