In wild Saturday afternoon game from Madison the Wisconsin Badgers shocked No. 3 Michigan 65-62 in overtime.
The win for Wisconsin though came after an amazing 40-foot free point basket by Ben Brust as time expired in regulation sending the game to the extra period.
Prior to this spectacular shot though, Michigan’s Tim Hardaway Jr hit an uncontested three with under 10 seconds remaining which many though would send the Wolverines to their first win in Madison since 1999.
The Badgers also got more spectacular clutch play from Jared Berggren with an and-one dunk over Michigan’s Trey Burke to tie the game before all the madness at the end of the half.
Brust who finished with 14 points in the game hit another big three during the overtime period which eventually sent the Badgers to victory. Michigan’s Trey Burke had a late chance to tie game in OT with time expiring however his shot went in and out as the Wisconsin student section rushed the court.
Burke finished the game leading all scorers with 19 points with Hardaway Jr. finishing with 18. The Wolverines now fall to 8-3 in the Big Ten and 21-3 overall, while Wisconsin improves to 8-3 in league play and 17-7 for the season.
