Baylor coach Art Briles is pretty much screwed

Baylor

Baylor head coach Art Briles pretty much highlights everything that’s wrong with college football.

Briles propelling himself to big time scumbag levels on the college football scene stems from himself telling reporters today he had no knowledge of Sam Ukwuachu issues that ultimately got him kicked out of Boise State. Those issues were Ukwuachu having a history of abusing his girlfriend and breaking windows during fits of rage… you know some pretty concerning character traits that you probably don’t want to introduce into your campus and basically expose your entire female student body to.

So in his discussions with former Boise State head coach Chris Peterson (who’s now with Washington) Briles looked to make it point to play stupid regarding Ukwuachu’s past because you gotta improve that Baylor pass rush…

Yeah playing stupid on Briles’ part is bad enough. But you know what’s worse? Actively knowing just how big a lunatic Ukwuachu was but still decided to bring him aboard. At least that’s the picture Peterson is now painting.

“After Sam Ukwuachu was dismissed from the Boise State football program and expressed an interest in transferring to Baylor, I initiated a call with coach Art Briles. In that conversation, I thoroughly apprised Coach Briles of the circumstances surrounding Sam’s disciplinary record and dismissal.”

Ultimately Briles’ indiscretion regarding the type of people he brings aboard his football team got some poor 18-year old female soccer player at Baylor sexually assaulted, something Ukwuachu was convicted of Thursday. But I guess her well-being can be put on hold for the sake of collapsing that pocket.

Anyways, Baylor will only now conduct an internal inquiry into the ‘circumstances’ associated with Ukwuachu’s sexual assault case.
