Back to 1956~5-0

In a hard-fought battle the Detroit Lions beat division rival the Chicago Bears 24-13 on Monday Night Football, the first Monday night regular season game played in Detroit since 2001 . Detroit had touchdowns from Calvin Johnson, Brandon Pettigrew, and Jahvid Best who broke for an 88 yard TD, the second longest in franchise history.

The last time the Detroit Lions went 5-0 was back in 1956 when players like Bobby Layne and Leon Hart took the field at Tiger Stadium. Last weekend when they went 4-0, it was the first time since 1980. The Lions are breaking records and making it clear that they are here to play this year, and they will crush anyone who stands in their way.

Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears could not penetrate through the Lions’ defense Monday Night, as the rushing in from the lineman intimidated Cutler. A few times a pass got to the receiver and they got a good chunk of yardage, but they couldn’t convert.
With 12 weeks left in the season, the Lions hope to continue their hot streak when they take on the San Francisco 49ers next Sunday.

Detroit Lions 6-0? I think so.
