In their search to replace lame duck head coach John L. Smith, the Razorbacks have reportedly offered LSU head coach Les Miles a five-year contract worth an estimated $27.5 million dollars.

The news comes by way of Jim Kleinpeter of Nola.com.

This of course wouldn’t be the first time that Miles would be pursued by another big time program. As recently as a couple years ago, Michigan was reported to of been talking to Miles after the firing of their head coach Rich Rodriguez. However, a move to Arkansas would certainly be a huge shakeup considering it would be within the conference and ironic since the Tigers just defeated the Razorbacks 20-13 in both teams’ regular-season finale.

Despite the news somewhat raw it definitely seems to have some legs if it’s being reported that Miles’ agent and AD Joe Alleva are in fact talking

Since being hired at LSU back in 2005, Miles has guided the Tigers to two National Championship appearances highlighted by one National Championship over Ohio State in 2008 including four total bowl wins.
