Arena Football’s LA Kiss offer Tim Tebow a 3-year contract

The LA KISS who begin play in the Arena Football League next season made a huge publicity stunt today by offering former New England Patriot Tim Tebow a three-year contract.

Of course the whole nostalgia of the LA KISS is the fact that it’s owned by the band KISS (notably Gene Simmons and Paul Stanely) as well as their manager Brett Bouchy so the Tebow aspect would only be another piece of ridiculousness to add to the equation. Still though the addition of Tebow to the franchise would obviously be an excellent business decision not only for the team but a league that’s found itself in dire straights financially the past several years.

Stanley indicated his excitement about the potential signing in a press release, via Nate Davis of USA Today:

Tim Tebow is one of the most recognized and respected athletes in sport. His joining us would mean great things for his fans and for our team, especially from a business standpoint. His credibility within the sports arena is paramount and with our commitment to bringing football without compromise back to LA, we’re excited to see how this offer turns out.

At this point too though it seems unlikely that Tebow makes the jump the AFL. After his release from the Patriots Tebow made it clear through Twitter that he’s dead set on making it as a quarterback in the NFL.
