The New York Rangers lost 1-0 tonight to the Capitals giving Washington a 2-1 series advantage in the Eastern Conference quarterfinals. Braden Holtby made 30 saves for the Caps for his second career postseason shutout while Jay Beagle scored his first goal of the playoffs to give Washington the edge.
What’s probably even more remarkable is this was another playoff game for the Blue Shirts that was decided by a single goal. In fact tonight was the 10th straight playoff game for the Rangers where the game was decided by a single goal something that has never happened before in the League’s history.
Rangers: 10 consecutive playoff games decided by 1 goal dating back to last season (longest streak in NHL history)
