If the Lions season couldn’t get anymore disappointing or draw any further comparisons to Barnum and Bailey anonymous comment’s are once again going the way of the Lions… instead though of a rival GM making the statements, it’s someone within the Lions’ organization.
According to an article by Yahoo! Sports’ Jason Cole, an anonymous Lions player has voiced their frustrations with Lions DT Ndamukong Suh…
“Yeah, we’re loaded,” the player said, exhaling after Detroit (4-8) lost its fourth consecutive game and third by four points or less. “But we have a couple of guys who don’t understand what it takes to win. Just making a couple of plays and thinking that makes you great … sometimes you want to just shake some of these guys and say, ‘Don’t you get it?’ ”
Anybody in particular?
“Ndamukong [Suh] would be first.”
What’s ironic about what this player said isn’t the perception of Ndamukong Suh, it’s the perception that the locker room may be turning on each other and perhaps head coach Jim Schwartz. If this was in fact a Lions player that said this Schwartz and the rest of the coaching staff needs to be proactive in making sure things like this don’t continue. And if it isn’t addressed the Lions will find themselves in a similar situation the New York Jets are in, a complete joke on and off the field.
