So just how bad are the Washington Wizards this season?
The announcers are starting to mistake air balls for game winners.
During Wednesday night’s 96-95 loss to the Pistons, Wizards play-by-play announcer Steve Buckhantz thought Trevor Ariza nailed a “dagger” for a game winner sending Washington to a victory over Detroit.
The only problem is Ariza’s shot came up short… In fact it didn’t even hit the rim.
But to Buckhantz’s credit, the ball did hit all net, except all that net came well underneath the iron.
One must wonder though given the enthusiasm Buckhantz had with the call if he runs the team’s Twitter page as well…
