Professional sports leagues around the World may seriously need to invest into some social networking etiquette classes for their athletes.
New York Knicks forward Amar’e Stoudemire was fined $50,000 dollars Tuesday for using “offensive and derogatory language” language against a fan on Twitter.
After tweeting that he’d just finished an extensive workout, Stoudemire received the following tweet from an individual using the Twitter handle @BFerrelli.
@BFerrelli: @amareisreal: you better come back a lot stronger and quicker to make up for this past season mannnnnn deadasss!!!
Amar’e took exception and responded to @BFerrelli via direct message with the following…
“Fuck you. I don’t have to do any thing fag.”
This is obviously the latest lapse in judgement for Stoudemire off the court. I’m sure we all remember the Knicks star taking out his frustrations on a fire extinguisher after a first round loss to the Miami Heat in the playoffs.
