Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez pleaded not guilty to first degree murder charges Friday afternoon.

Hernandez, who was being arraigned for the death of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd will continue to be held without bail but will have another bail hearing in the near future according to Wesley Lowery of the Boston Globe.

In addition to the charges brought fourth in the murder of Lloyd, Hernandez is also being investigated for his involvement in a 2012 drive-by shooting.

Here’s an excerpt from Jenny Wilson of the Hartford Courant:

Authorities have surveillance footage that shows Aaron Hernandez and two men killed in a drive-by shooting in Boston last summer at the same establishment hours before [the victims] died, according to multiple law enforcement sources with knowledge of the investigation.

The video, one of the sources said, is from a Boston nightclub. Prosecutors have not filed charges in the July 2012 double homicide, but their interest in Hernandez, the former New England Patriot star from Bristol, has been widely reported.

Furthermore in addition to today’s arraignment, Hernandez will have a pre trial conference on October 9th at 9 AM ET.
