A 3-4 Matt Patricia criticized a reporter over posture

Despite his Barstool clown shirts, scruffy beard, backwards hat and baggy clothes, Matt Patricia may still be one of those guys who bitches at the television at pitchers who tilt their cap to the side going on about ‘respecting the game!’.

I’m jumping to that conclusion today because of this exchange with a reporter who asked the Lions head coach about the Golden Tate trade and whether or not it made the team better? A fair question mind you and one I’m sure fans would like to get the opinion from the head coach on.

But that must’ve struck a nerve with Patricia because instead of simply addressing the question, the head coach snapped back at the reporter’s posture while telling them to ‘respect the process’.

Have a look…

Transcript via the Detroit Free Press:

Reporter: “Why do you think this move makes your franchise better?”

Patricia: “Ah, well, you know. Do me a favor, just kinda sit up, just like, have a little respect for the process. Every day you come and ask me questions and you’re just kinda like, you know, ‘Gimme this.’”

Reporter: “I’m sitting…”

Patricia: “I’m asking just to be a little respectful in this whole process.”

Christ… Is this really what we’re doing now? I get it Matt, you’re from the Bill Belichick mold but you sure as hell aren’t going to be pulling this shit at presser’s while you’re residing over a 3-4 football team who just got the shit kicked out of them at home by the Seahawks.

And I may be one of the few who can get on board with Patricia’s outward scruffy appearance with the backwards hat, beard and baggy clothes. I do that myself. But Matt, neither of us are Ralph Lauren and probably shouldn’t be giving many tips on outward appearance or presentation.
