North Korea decided to take a break from threatening the rest of the World with nuclear war to host the an international marathon in honor of the country’s founder Kim-Il sung’s birthday.
Consisting of around 600 participants, the city of Pyongyang (the capital of the communist state) did an excellent job presenting the country as a peaceful nation despite being under the rule of an absolute psychopath who continues the family tradition of starving and murdering their own people.
“The ongoing sports tournaments make the country seethe with holiday atmosphere,” said the North Korean news agency KCNA.
Other festivities include a ten-day film festival and “outdoor dance parties”. There will also be a military parade, which analysts will watch carefully for signs of which missiles the North displays.
